Fair-Haired Dumbbell

The Fair-Haired Dumbbell a 56,000 SF speculative office building retail space on the ground-floor located in the heart of the Burnside Bridgehead.

The project consists of two canted six-story towers decked in hand-painted original artwork on all eight of its elevations.  At each level, sky bridges connect the ~4,000 SF office spaces, giving the creative companies who work there the ability to own their own floor.  No two elevations are the same; Tenants and visitors alike will take in impressive views of Portland through windows of varying size.  At the ground floor, the Fair-Haired Dumbbell will compliment its neighborhood with unique retail offerings and creative landscaping.

TVF&R – CBOC

Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue (TVF&R)’s new home is a 38,000 square foot state of the art facility. Designed to last 30 years and withstand major earthquakes, this facility can operate on it’s own for 78 hours if they lose power.

American Heating’s scope included installing an additional 30-ton VAV unit to complement the existing VAV unit and 45 new terminal units to distribute the air amongst the buildings 3 floors.  Two floor mounted 10-ton CRAC units were installed in the ground floor data center while their remote condensers were installed on the roof.   We also tied into the existing Trane DDC system that was already on site.

Extensive building commissioning was performed on the building to guarantee the building performs as designed.  The mechanical system was meticulously reviewed and passed by the independent commissioning agent.

Les Schwab Corporate HQ

Les Schwab relocated their corporate headquarters to Bend, OR in 2008. Their new 123,000 sf building houses offices, conference rooms, kitchens, locker rooms and a data center. Many energy conservation features were incorporated into the design.

Les Schwab contracted with American Heating to perform the mechanical install for this building. This enormous building is served by ten rooftop A/C units feeding an underfloor air distribution system that maximizes employee comfort. Two CRAC units and a roof mounted dry cooler handle the sizeable cooling load of the data center.

American Heating also installed a start-of-the-art Trane DDC system to serve this project. The Trane system provides building control through a single integrated interface allowing total control of the building’s indoor environment.
